Results of our initial testing of the DRP restore process were even better than expected. On the test LPAR this weekend, we restored 101 production volumes from a full volume and one incremental backup tape in less than 2.5 hours.

FDRDRP cut the D/R time from 20 hours down to under 8 and half.
Disaster Recovery

FDRDRP makes it practical to restore data right up to the point of the most recent incremental. FDRDRP enhances ABR volume recovery so that multiple disks volumes that have been backed up onto high capacity tapes can be restored in one pass of each tape. This eliminates repeated mounts of the backup tapes and greatly reduces the elapsed time at the disaster recovery site.
